About

Genevieve (Jieun) Won is a New York-based researcher and writer interested in fashion, art, and the ways they intersect in museum and exhibition spaces. Her work looks at how fashion is presented, interpreted, and valued within institutional settings, with a focus on the shifting boundaries between fashion as dress and fashion as art. Through writing and exhibition reviews, she explores how display, context, and curation shape the meaning of fashion objects.

She received her M.A. in Costume Studies from New York University and holds degrees in Fashion and Textiles and English Education from Sangmyung University. Alongside her academic work, she has experience in fashion marketing, sales, and vintage jewelry curation. This site brings together her essays, thesis research, and exhibition reviews as an ongoing record of her research and observations on fashion, material culture, and visual display.
